What Does the Standard Bank Kasi SME Pitch Challenge Offer?

The 2026 competition is structured across two stages — provincial rounds and a national final,  with cash prizes available at both levels.

Provincial Round Prizes

In each of the nine provinces, 10 entrepreneurs will be shortlisted to pitch their businesses before a panel of judges. The top three performers in each province will receive the following:

  • Provincial Winner: R50,000
  • 1st Runner-Up: R10,000
  • 2nd Runner-Up: R10,000

Pitching Masterclass

As part of the journey to the national finals, all Top 10 finalists will gain access to a Standard Bank Enterprise and Supplier Development pitching masterclass. This is designed to help participants sharpen their business models, storytelling, and presentation skills ahead of the finals — a significant value-add beyond the prize money itself.

The Competition Process

The Standard Bank Kasi SME Pitch Challenge follows a structured process across two stages:

1. Provincial Application Phase where entrepreneurs apply online and submit information about their business. Applications are evaluated to shortlist 10 businesses per province.

2. Provincial Pitch Round where the 10 shortlisted businesses in each province pitch to a panel of judges. The top three performers receive provincial prize money, with the winner advancing to the national finals.

3. Pitching Masterclass where the top 10 national finalists attend a Standard Bank Enterprise and Supplier Development masterclass to prepare for the national stage.

4. National Finals where the top 10 compete for the R1 million grand prize, with one overall winner taking the million rand.
